About us

Welcome to the Sustainable Design & Systems Medicine Laboratory at Rowan University. Our research focuses on leveraging process systems engineering principles in the areas of healthcare and the environment. We apply principles and methods from mathematical modeling, simulation, programming, data analysis, optimization, control, uncertainty analysis and stochastic processes for predicting treatment strategies and design decisions for problems in healthcare and the environment.

Current research projects include:

(1) Machine Learning for Sustainable Chemicals and Processes, (2) Water Treatment Systems – Process Synthesis, Asset Management, Resilience, and Energy Audit (3) Optimization of Pipeline Flushing and Cleaning Operations in Lubricant Blending Facility (4) Solvent Recovery in Industrial Manufacturing Processes (5) Plastics recycling and impact of additives (6) Data analysis and modeling applications in healthcare

If you are interested in becoming a part of the research group, please send an email to yenkie@rowan.edu.
